About the Festival:
The Djelem Djelem Festival, in collaboration with the city of Dortmund, Romano Than e.V., save space e.V., ERIAC, Romano Svato, the Romnja in Power theater collective, and Carmen e.V., presents an array of captivating events and activities that illuminate the essence of Sintezze and Romnja heritage. This year’s theme, “Rising from the Ashes – The Heritage of Romnja and Sinte*zze as a Driving Force for Romani Future Perspectives” is a tribute to the resilience, strength, and diversity of our communities.

- International Symposium: A focal point of the festival, the international symposium on September 13th, 2023, titled “Rising from the Ashes – The Legacy of Romnja* and Sintezze* as a Driving Force for Romani Future Perspectives,” will delve into the profound experiences of women, FLINTA*, and queer members within Romani communities.
