The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) is seeking a research fellow who will contribute to the mapping and drafting of the report on Roma tangible heritage in Europe and beyond.

ERIAC has launched its third cycle of international programming with the “Roma Tangible Heritage Network” program financed by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. The RTHN PROJECT emphasizes the immense field of the cultural heritage of the largest European minority, the 10-12 million Roma people. This ERIAC project raises awareness about the Roma communities’ significant contribution to European culture by promoting new knowledge among majority societies, mainstream cultural institutions European governments.
Focusing on tangible heritage of the Roma past will shed light on institutional cultural histories, will identify the artifacts, archival records, and conservation strategies connected to Roma arts and culture, and will provide arguments about the need to collect, preserve and bring in front of audiences the Roma collections, storages and artifacts in Europe.
Objectives of the Assignment:
Under the direct supervision of the ERIAC management, the Researcher will work to develop the comprehensive mapping of Roma tangible heritage. The researcher will able to use ERIAC’s previous research, resources and knowledge-base.
The fellow will produce a research report (20 – 30 pages) in English. The researcher is expected to submit a comprehensive excel as background information to the paper, which will serve as a basis for developing info-graphics and statistical data on Roma tangible heritage.
