In the frame of ERIACNET4EU project, financed by the European Commission, ERIAC is excited to announce a series of capacity-building activities aimed at empowering and strengthening the Roma community. These workshops and seminars will provide valuable skills, foster collaboration, and support the preservation and promotion of Roma culture. Join us for these enriching sessions:

  1. Empowering Roma Voices: Media Production Skills Workshop

Date: July 10, 2024

Objective: Introduce participants to media production, focusing on video and audio formats. Learn practical skills in storyboarding, filming, editing, and audio recording. Use media production for community advocacy and representation.

Trainer: Sami Mustafa, independent documentary director and producer, founder of Romawood production company, and member of the International Romani Film Commission.

  1. Mastering Grant Writing: A Capacity Building Seminar

Date: July 4, 2024

Objective: Enhance participants’ understanding of grant proposals, identify funding opportunities, and craft compelling proposals. Gain practical strategies for effective project narratives and budget justification.

Trainer: Lavinia Banu, EU Affairs Consultant with expertise in EU programming, equality, non-discrimination, and social inclusion.

  1. Connect & Collaborate: Virtual Networking Event for Network Members

Date: July 9, 2024

Objective: Facilitate meaningful connections among ERIAC members, share insights, explore collaborations, and strengthen community engagement.

Moderator: Claudiu Pamfil, experienced project manager and facilitator, with a background in EU-funded projects and volunteer coordination.

  1. Romani Language Crash Course: Online Workshop

Date: July 10, 2024
Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM CET

Objective: Introduce participants to the basics of the Romani language, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Foster interactive learning through conversational practice.

Trainer: Mihaela Zatreanu, Romani language expert, curriculum developer, and author of Romani language textbooks.

  1. Healing Historical Trauma: Commemoration and Healing in the Roma Community

Date: July 11, 2024
Time: 04:00 – 05:30 PM CET

Objective: Explore the impact of historical trauma on the Roma community and discuss effective healing practices. Develop practical skills for commemoration and healing strategies.

Trainer: Dr. Ioanida Costache, assistant professor of Ethnomusicology at Stanford University, Romani violinist, artist, and scholar.
