Dariya Kanti starts her artist residency at Villa Romana, Florence
The residence, co-founded by ERIAC and Villa Romana, Florence, will last from 25 August to 25 September 2022. The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) joined forces with the Villa Romana (Florence) residency programme to offer artistic residencies for two Roma contemporary artists in 2020. This exciting initiative drew upon the ground-breaking work, expertise, and vision of both institutions to realise a unique opportunity for young Roma artists and marks a significant step in recognition of the importance of Roma contemporary art practice today. Through the cooperation of Villa Romana and ERIAC, the residence offers artists the opportunity to concentrate on their work, to seek an exchange with other artists in the house and in the regional environment, and to deal with the history of art on site. Every year, the program promotes two selected artists and gives visibility to Roma contemporary arts. The artists selected for the residency in 2022 are Dariya Kanti and LdRosa, who will start her stay in Florence later in a year.
