CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: ROMA YOUTH TOGETHER 2025
As part of the annual OPRE! Roma Month: Standing Up for Dignity and Rights, the Council of Europe will host the Roma Youth Together 2025 seminar at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, co-organized with leading Roma networks: the International Roma Youth Network – TernYpe, the European Roma Grassroots Organisations (ERGO) Network, and Phiren Amenca.
The Roma Youth Together 2025 seminar will take place from 5 to 8 April 2025 at the European Youth Centre, Strasbourg.
The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC), as a long-standing supporter of the program, has once again pledged its commitment for empowering the creativity, collaboration, and self-expression of young Roma across Europe, reaffirming its belief in their potential to build a more inclusive and equitable future.
The seminar will bring together youth leaders and youth workers from Roma and Traveller communities across Europe to exchange experiences, develop advocacy skills, and explore creative ways to celebrate Roma identity and heritage.
The Roma Youth Together 2025 seminar is designed to empower young Roma as agents of change, enabling them to actively contribute to their communities and stand up for their rights. The event’s main objectives include:
- Sharing experiences and challenges related to youth participation among Roma communities.
- Empowering young Roma and civil society to lead positive change and inspire their communities.
- Strengthening participants’ leadership, advocacy, and human rights activism skills to combat antigypsyism.
- Associating Roma youth with the Council of Europe’s work in youth participation, marking the 75th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights.
- Celebrating International Roma Day, with Roma youth leading the way in shaping the festivities.
- Fostering a strong sense of Roma youth community and collaboration with European networks.
The event will center around three main, interconnected phases:
