AMBIVALENCE: Between Admiration and Rejection | ERIAC Serbia Exhibition Opening

The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture Serbia marks World Roma Day with the opening of the exhibition AMBIVALENCE: Between Admiration and Rejection – The Roma Contribution to Serbia’s Musical Heritage on April 8.

The exhibition explores the complex relationship with Roma artists and their contributions to musical heritage, highlighting the simultaneous processes of recognition, contribution, and marginalization. Through archival materials, photographs, and selected artistic elements, the exhibition sheds light on the often overlooked or insufficiently documented contributions of Roma musicians and artists. The exhibition is supported by the British Embassy Belgrade.
