ERIACNET4EU | Amarè Romà E: An International Festival of Roma Theatre and Performing Arts in Rome
What does a hero look like when no one is watching? Roma artists answer that question on stage at Amarè Romà E, an international festival of Roma theatre and performing arts presented by Rampa Prenestina in Rome from 2 to 11 October 2026.
Spanning performance, exhibition, fashion, poetry and music, the festival celebrates contemporary Roma creativity and builds new narratives grounded in self-representation, dialogue and the power of relationships. Its special theatrical programme ‘Roma Heroes – Reclaiming the Ordinary’ looks at the everyday acts of heroism and the stories that often remain unseen.
Over ten days, Rome hosts artists from Italy and several European countries, providing a setting for cultural exchange and collaboration. The city becomes an active part of the festival, offering spaces for encounters between artists, audiences and local communities.

Amarè Romà E is developed through the ERIACNET4EU initiative, funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme. ERIACNET4EU supports projects that mobilise culture as a tool for memory, social engagement, and the promotion of EU rights and values, while challenging negative narratives about Roma people and strengthening self-esteem within Roma communities.
The initiative supports member organisations of the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) based in the EU, enabling them to develop cultural and educational activities in areas including arts, history, media, research, advocacy, cultural diplomacy and intercultural exchange.
