CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Podcast Series | Roma Youth for Holocaust Remembrance

The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) and the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) invite Roma youth to co-create and participate in the youth-led podcast project “Echoes of Memory – Roma Youth for Holocaust Remembrance.”

The project explores the history and legacy of the Roma Holocaust, connecting past injustices with the contemporary struggles and identities of Roma youth. Participants will engage in meaningful conversations, visit memorial sites such as the Sinti and Roma Memorial in Berlin, and express their reflections through podcast recordings.

ERIAC leads this initiative as part of its mission to empower Roma through art, culture, and remembrance. The project emphasizes intersectionality, centers underrepresented Roma voices, and promotes historical-political education through creative digital storytelling.

All participants will receive financial remuneration and accommodation during recording in Berlin.

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in audio or video podcast episodes recorded in Berlin.
  • Collaborate with peers and elders to explore historical memory, resistance, and activism.
  • Visit the Sinti and Roma Memorial with expert introductions.
  • Contribute to a permanent podcast archive on Roma Holocaust remembrance, reaching audiences across Europe

  • Roma youth between 16-30 years old
  • Interested in history, activism, digital media, and community engagement
  • Can freely express thoughts in English
