Superpower Resilience – Hope on the Path to Transformation?

How can societies bolster themselves in times of change in order to find answers to climate change, sustainability, political unrest, war, migration or economic development processes? Is resilience a necessary key factor on the path toward transformation?

We are pleased to share that Timea Jungahus, the Executive Director of ERIAC, will deliver a keynote speech at the seventh edition of the 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙨 on 22 June 2023 at Schloss Genshagen and the Castle Grounds. This event, organized as part of the international network “𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙩é”, will delve into the central theme of resilience.

Timea Junghaus’ keynote will focus on the timely topic of 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙨, specifically focusing on the unfolding situation in Hungary. Drawing from her expertise and experience, she will present the work of ERIAC and provide valuable insights into how, particularly during moments of crisis, discriminated groups within democracies can face challenges. In her address, Junghaus will explore the profound connection between art, resilience, and the resistance of discriminated groups. She will delve into how art can contribute to strengthening self-esteem, increasing the resilience of marginalized communities, and reducing negative prejudices prevalent among the majority population.

This keynote promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking session, addressing pressing questions such as: How can art and resilience collaborate to enhance the endurance of discriminated groups? How can these efforts fortify their sense of self-worth? And how can they effectively challenge and diminish negative prejudices the broader society holds?
