Food stylist and photographer

I believe my work through food can have a meaningful impact to the process of adaptation to a new country, culture. Based on some scholars work Gyon, Chang and Locher, food is considered to always be linked to memories and maintain ethnic identity. Thus, food might have a very important role in constructing migrants’ identities while trying to adapt. Based on where food and eating practices comes from, with whom food is consumed and for what goal it is chosen, food becomes a tool in relation to an individual`s personal culture. Food is a genuine passion that people like to share within each other. For instance, in a foreign country one can meet with others from other countries and learning from each other to cook different dishes, different uses of food and different eating practices which then allow for maintaining different spheres of experience, thereby integrating different aspects of one’s identity
