ERIAC Welcomes New Barvalipe Academy Members
Throughout 2024, ERIAC completed the meticulous procedure of changes in the composition of ERIAC Barvalipe Academy. Upon expiration of the mandates in 2024, new members were appointed through a process regulated by the ERIAC Statute.
In accordance with the ERIAC statute, 7 members of the Barvalipe Academy are nominated by ERIAC’s Board Pakiv. These are:
- Nedjo Osman was re-elected for a second and final three-year term
- Raul Carstocea was re-elected for a second and final three-year term
- Jake Bowers
- Colin Clark
- Bajsa Arifovska
- Israel Galvan de los Reyes
- Ioanida Costache
In line with the ERIAC Statute, following the election of Ioanida Costache to the ERIAC Board (in March 2025), she was succeeded by Patricia Caro Maya.
The remaining 8 members of the Barvalipe Academy are elected by the members through the thematic sections. Each section delegates two representatives to Barvalipe. Following the nomination process and elections conducted in each thematic section, the General Assembly appointed the following representatives to the Barvalipe Academy, during the VII General Assembly meeting held in November 2024 in Berlin:
Arts and Culture: Sami Mustafa, Isaac Blake
Research and Publication in the fields of Arts and Culture: Carol Silverman, Dezso Mate
History and Commemoration: Pierre Chopinaud, Rafael Buhigas Jiménez
Media and Information in the fields of Arts and Culture: Vera Lacková, Avni Mustafa
During the first meeting of the newly appointed Barvalipe Academy members, the representatives elected a new Chair and Vice Chair. The internal voting produced the following result:
Jake Bowers – elected as Chair
Ioanida Costache – elected as Vice-Chair
