Antonio Piculeață to Perform at the Tajsa Roma Cultural Heritage Prize 2025 Gala

ERIAC is honoured to welcome violinist Antonio Piculeață as part of the artistic programme of the Tajsa Roma Cultural Heritage Prize 2025, taking place on 29 November 2025 at the Romanian Athenaeum.

Antonio Piculeață, official Ambassador of Romanian culture, is a violinist born in New York into a distinguished family of classical and traditional Romanian musicians. He began studying violin at the age of six, guided by his parents, Loredana and Relu Piculeață, both trained at leading Romanian music institutions.

Antonio made his solo debut at nine years old with the Medici Orchestra conducted by Iosef Prunner at the Romanian Athenaeum. He soon performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto no. three with the Oltenia Philharmonic under the baton of Mădălin Voicu. His artistic development continued under notable mentors including Roman Kim and, later, Geza Hosszu Legocky, who introduced him to chamber music and advanced violin technique.

He has studied with Li Lin and Kenneth Renshaw at the Juilliard School and with Viktor Basis at the Lucy Moses School in New York. He currently studies with Dora Schwarzberg in Vienna. Antonio is the winner of the first prize and special prize at the Remember Enescu competition, as well as first prize and special prize at the National Music Olympiad. He is also a finalist of the Chieti Classica competition in Italy.

Antonio has performed on prestigious stages including the Romanian Athenaeum, the Aula of the Romanian Academy, the National Opera in Bucharest, and concert halls in Vienna, Brussels, Berlin, New York, and major cities across Romania.
He currently performs on a 1711 Antonio Stradivari violin.

On the occasion of Tajsa Roma Cultural Heritage Prize 2025, Antonio will be accompanied by Maria Muntean on piano and Maria Bîldea on harp.
