ROMAMOMA LIBRARY AT SAVVY CONTEMPORARY
ERIAC is delighted to join SAVVY Contemporary for Vulnerable Archives. On Silenced Archives and Dissenting Views. We will join the program of the closed research exchange to discuss Roma practice of remembering as a survival technique. In addition to our participation in the research exchange, SAVVY Contemporary will be the fourth stop for the RomaMoMA Library, after visiting Off Biennale Budapest, Rautestrauch-Joest Museum in Koln and Schafhof European Center for Art Upper Bavaria. The current design- ADJACENT– created by Daniel Baker, is a white mobile table painted with black lines to form the barcode of ‘We Roma: A Critical Reader in Contemporary Art’. It stems from Baker’s interest in the relationships between the embodied and the virtual, and the representation of objects and ideas through abstract motifs and symbols such as barcodes, crochet patterns etc. On the opening night of 17th of September, the RomaMoMA Library, will be artistically activated through the performance of Mihaela Dragan, Roma Futurism: The Witch’s Seed.
