Five fully-funded Internship positions at the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC)

The European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) and the Roma Education Foundation Serbia (REF Serbia) invite applications for five Internship positions at the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC).

The Internship program offers a selected group of candidates a unique opportunity to join the dynamic ERIAC team and to contribute to development of ERIAC’s mission. The Interns will support the building of ERIAC’s international hub which strives to promote activities of hundreds of Roma organisations, intellectuals and artists to form multilateral initiatives and regional alliances, and to connect them with the policy makers and leaders of the different national and European level. The interns will support the international programming, engaging with the work of ERIAC Berlin-based headquarters as well as ERIAC SERBIA – the first branch office based in Belgrade. Interns will be provided with research opportunities in connection to Roma contemporary arts and culture scene in Europe and will gain practical training in project management.

The Internship positions are for six months. Due to existing Covid-19 related restrictions, the Interns will work remotely. The Interns will work under the direct supervision of the management of ERIAC. The successful candidates will be offered a monthly stipend of 500 euro (gross), funded by the Roma Education Foundation Serbia (REF) through the KfW supported project “Empowerment of Young Roma – Phase 2”, to cover their expenses. This opportunity is available for all Roma graduates or those at the final year of their university studies, disregarding of the field of study. Only Serbian nationals are eligible to apply. Current and past REF beneficiaries are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

The typical responsibilities given to the Interns include:

  • Support the institution-building and operations of ERIAC and, in particular, assist in expanding the Europe-wide network of Roma and non-Roma associate members of the Institute;
  • Take part in coordinating the organization’s programs and projects;
  • Support the writing of grants, and the fundraising initiatives;
  • Support in organization of arts and culture events, such as exhibitions, discussions, symposiums etc. of the extended ERIAC hub, by developing content, logistics and communications;
  • Research of the contemporary Roma arts and culture scene across Europe;
  • Contributing to the communication of the Institute by supporting the social media, development of newsletters and content of the website;
  • Day-to-day activities and tasks as part of the ERIAC team.

 

Qualifications

This opportunity is available for all Roma graduates or those at the final year of their university studies, disregarding of the field of study. Only Serbian nationals are eligible to apply. Current and past REF beneficiaries are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates should have:

  • A very good command of English. Knowledge of any other European languages will be considered a plus, and knowledge of Romanes and/or German will be considered an asset;
  • Interest in fields related to the scope of competencies of ERIAC of broadly-understood arts, culture and knowledge-production;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to equal opportunities and diversity and commitment to ERIAC’s founding principles;
  • Experience with office work as a team player as well as capacity to work independently.

Selection Criteria

The Interns will be selected through a competitive selection process based on the relevance of the applicant’s career goals, previous working experience and motivation.

Pet plaćenih pripravničkih pozicija u Evropskom institutu za romsku umetnost i kulturu (ERIAC)

Evropski institut za romsku kulturu i umetnost (ERIAC) i Fondacija za obrazovanje Roma Srbija (REF Serbia) otvaraju konkurs za podnošenje prijava za pet pripravničkih mesta u Evropskom institutu za romsku kulturu i umetnost (ERIAC).

Pripravnički program izabranim kandidatima i kandidatkinjama nudi jedinstvenu mogućnost da se pridruže dinamičnom ERIAC timu i da doprinesu razvoju misije ERIAC-a. Stažisti će učestvovati u izgradnji međunarodnog sedišta ERIAC-a koji teži promovisanju aktivnosti nekoliko stotina romskih organizacija, intelektualaca i umetnika u cilju kreiranja multilateralnih inicijativa i regionalnih udruženja i njihovog povezivanja sa donosiocima odluka i liderima na  nacionalnom i evropskom nivou. Stažisti će učestvovati u izradi međunarodnog programa u saradnji sa sedištem ERIAC-a u Berlinu, kao i sa ERIAC SERBIA – prvoj kancelariji otvorenoj u Beogradu. Stažisti će imati mogućnost da učestvuju u istraživačkim aktivnostima vezanim za savremenu romsku umetničku i kulturnu scenu u Evropi i steći će praktičnu obuku iz oblasti projektnog menadžmenta.

Pripravnički staž traje šest meseci. Zbog postojećih ograničenja uzrokovanih pandemijom virusa Kovid-19, stažiranje će se obavljati na daljinu. Stažisti će raditi pod direktnom supervizijom menadžmenta ERIAC-a. Uspešnim stažistima i stažistkinjama biće ponuđena mesečna stipendija u iznosu od 500 evra (bruto) od strane Fondacije za obrazovanje Roma Srbija (REF) kroz projekat “Pospešivanje zapošljivosti mladih Roma i Romkinja – faza II” finansiranog od strane Nemačke razvojne banke KfW-a radi pokrivanja nastalih troškova. Ova mogućnost je otvorena za sve svršene romske studente/studentkinje i za one koji pohađaju završnu godinu izabranog fakulteta, bez obzira na oblast koju studiraju. Konkurs važi samo za državljane Republike Srbije. Posebno su dobrodošle prijave nekadašnjih i trenutnih korisnika REF-a.

Odgovornosti

Uobičajene odgovornosti stažista uključuju:

  • Pružanje podrške građenju same institucije, kao i svim aktivnostima ERIAC-a, a posebno rad na proširenju evropske mreže romskih i neromskih saradnika;
  • Učestvovanje u koordinaciji programa i projekata organizacije;
  • Pružanje podrške pri kreiranju grantova i inicijativama usmerenim na skupljanje sredstava (fundraising);
  • Pružanje podrške pri organizovanju umetničkih i kulturnih događaja, poput izložbi, diskusija, simpozijuma, itd. u okviru proširene ERIAC mreže, putem učešća u kreiranju sadržaja, pružanju logističke pomoći i komunikacije;
  • Istraživanje savremene romske kulturne i umetničke evropske scene;
  • Pružanje doprinosa u poboljšanju komunikacije Instituta putem društvenih mreža, izrade biltena i kreiranja sadržaja web stranice;
  • Izvršavanje svakodnevnih aktivnosti i zadataka u okviru ERIAC tima.

 

Kvalifikacije

Ova mogućnost je otvorena za sve svršene romske studente/studentkinje i za one koji pohađaju završnu godinu izabranog fakulteta, bez obzira na oblast koju studiraju. Konkurs važi samo za državljane Republike Srbije. Posebno su dobrodošle prijave nekadašnjih i trenutnih korisnika REF-a.  Idealni kandidati i kandidatkinje treba da ispunjavaju sledeće uslove:

  • Vrlo dobro znanje engleskog jezika. Znanje bilo kojeg drugog evropskog jezika je poželjno, a znanje romskog i/ili nemačkog jezik a je od posebne vrednosti;
  • Interesovanje za oblasti iz kruga delatnosti ERIAC-a u okviru šireg spektra umetnosti, kulture i sticanja znanja;
  • Odlične verbalne, pisane i međuljudske veštine komunikacije;
  • Pokazana posvećenost ostvarenju jednakih mogućnosti za sve, različitostima i odanost suštinskim principima ERIAC-a;
  • Iskustvo u kancelarijskom radu u okviru tima, kao i kapacitet za nezavisni rad.

Izborni kriterijumi

Stažisti će biti izabrani putem kompetetivnog selekcionog procesa zasnovanog na relevantnosti karijerinih ciljeva, prethodnog radnog iskustva i motivacije.

Dobrodošle su prijave svih osoba koje zadovoljavaju kriterijume bez obzira na pol, invaliditet, bračni ili roditeljski status, rasno, etničko ili društveno poreklo, boju kože, veroispovest, uverenja ili seksualnu orijentaciju. Posebno su dobrodošle prijave nekadašnjih i trenutnih korisnika REF-a.
