Dijana Pavlović (1976) is an Italian naturalized Serbian actress, activist and politician. Born in Kruševac (Serbia); she graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the University of Belgrade. From 1995 to 1999 she participated in several International Theatre Festivals in Yugoslavia, Romania and Bulgaria. In 2000, she was the translator and interpreter in the show “Sentiero color cenere”, which refers to unpublished poetry and prose belonging to Roma culture. In 1999/2000 she acted in Italian, in some theatrical productions for high school, maternal and elementary school, among them the fable “The ugly duckling”, and Moliere’s “Il tartufo” and “Il medico per forza”. For several years, Pavlović has been promoting the culture and literature of the Roma, also playing the role of cultural mediator in schools.
She was nominated for the city council of Milan in 2006, in the United list with Dario Fo, and for the Italian Parliament in 2008 in the ranks of La Sinistra l’Arcobaleno; however, she did not succeed in being elected in both consultations.
