BIO

Sami Mustafa is independent documentary director, producer and writer. He made his first film as a trainee in 2003 in Plemetina village in Kosovo, where the native of this town learned the techniques of film making with Balkan Sunflowers NGO. Little more then a decade he has produced, directed and written more than fifty short documentaries, docu-fiction and long length films.

He is founder of Romawood, Rolling Film Festival acting as artistic director. He is also acting as film tutor that gives opportunity to young Roma people to learn and to express other lives, experience and identity through artistic methods, thus producing documentary films. Many of these films by youth has been shown to festivals and won awards for different categories.

He is specialised in film programming of Roma theme movies while acting as a artistic director of Rolling Film Festival and also he have programmed many different international film festival that had/has Roma themes.

His latest film “Trapped by Law” (2015) has been shown to numerous international film festivals won different awards including a best documentary film in New York City at the Albanian Film Week (2016). https://trappedbylawmovie.wordpress.com
