Driton Berisha

Country Facilitator for Roma Education Fund, in Kosovo

I am myself a musician, and through music I have had the pleasure in exploring the arts of the Roma people in many fields. My connection to arts started in 2002, when I purchased my first guitar for 2 euros.
Since then, although I have not seriously dedicated myself to the music, I successfully had two albums produced with my written songs. There are at least twenty songs that I wrote, sang and played to express the feelings of love, pain, sacrifice, but also the happiness, sacrifice and pride of
being Roma. I have had my music being used as theme songs in four Roma related documentaries,
and one in short fiction film. I am also currently a member of the Jimmy Mustafa Band where I perform as guitar player and singer, a band that also fights for human rights through music.
