Lecturer, Human Rights Law

I am currently an adjunct lecturer in human rights law at the Irish Centre for Human Rights and taught human rights law, art and advocacy, for the Huston Film School at the National University of Ireland for four years. I developed this course to incorporate a socio-legal and art component, including, for example, coupling theories and work of Susan Sontag, Bertolt Brecht, Ariel Dorfman and others to address transitional justice mechanisms, genocide, war crimes, minority rights. I have just submitted an academic article with Dr. Maria Asavei on ‘Feminist Spirituality and Artistic Activism: The Literary Afterlife of the Uncanonised Sara Kali’ and am very interested in Sara Kali and artistic activism as well as Rajko Duric’s writing. I also undertake work on refugees, Roma and Holocaust commemoration. I have undertaken research at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum on this and related areas. While I come to this area from academia and advocacy, I am hoping to move into further work specifically on art and curation.
